Beckham County was founded in 1907. Beckham was created by taking area from Greer and Roger Mills Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Beckham had a population of 21,834 people. This is a decrease of 1.29% since the last Census (which gave a population of 22,119 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Beckham represented 0.59% of the total population of Oklahoma.
