At the time of the 2010 Census, Claremore had a population of 18,581 people (or 21.38% of the total population of Rogers County). This makes Claremore the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Claremore represents 0.5% of the population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 25th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 18,581 people, the population of Claremore increased 17.06% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 15,873 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Claremore was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Claremore post office opened in 1874.
