Welcome to Shasta ...So far, we found very little information about Shasta. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Shasta to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Shasta has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Shasta, you might consider that their post office opened in 1880. While the community is gone, the present day location for Shasta is 800 feet [244 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Shasta was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Shasta would have been located in the (419) and (567)<5> area codes.
