Welcome to Mounds ...So far, we found very little information about Mounds. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Mounds to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Mounds - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Mounds, please Contact Us. While we don't have the exact location of Mounds , we believe that it would have been located within present day Franklin County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Mounds, you might get a feel for it by knowing that the earliest mention that we've found (so far) was in a book dated 1895. Time Zone: The area where Mounds was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Communities Also Named Mounds ...Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 8 communities that are also named Mounds - they are located in Alabama, Arkansas (2), Colorado, Illinois (2), Oklahoma and Utah.
