So far, we found very little information about Matchett. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Matchett to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Matchett - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Matchett, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Matchett , we believe that it would have been located within present day Darke County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Matchett, you might consider that their post office opened in 1855.

Time Zone: The area where Matchett was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Matchett was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Matchett post office opened in 1855.
