So far, we found very little information about Liggett. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Liggett to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Liggett - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Liggett, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Liggett , we believe that it would have been located within present day Van Wert County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Liggett, you might consider that their post office opened in 1888.

Time Zone: The area where Liggett was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Liggett once stood is in the (419) and (567)<3> area codes.

We originally found mention of Liggett in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Liggett was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Liggett post office opened in 1888.

We also found Liggett in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
