Welcome to Hampshire ...

So far, we found very little information about Hampshire. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Hampshire to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Hampshire - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Hampshire, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Hampshire , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lake County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Hampshire, you might consider that their post office opened in 1812.

Time Zone: The area where Hampshire was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Hampshire was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Hampshire post office opened in 1812.
