Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Grand Rapids had an population of 1,006 people. This is an increase of 4.25% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.4% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Grand Rapids had a population of 965 people. This makes Grand Rapids the county's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 965 people, the population of Grand Rapids decreased 3.69% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,002 people).

We originally found mention of Grand Rapids in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Grand Rapids was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Grand Rapids post office opened in 1868.

We also found Grand Rapids in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
