Welcome to Ensee ...

So far, we found very little information about Ensee. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Ensee to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Ensee - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Ensee, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Ensee , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lawrence County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Ensee, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890.

Time Zone: The area where Ensee was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Ensee still existed, it would have been in the (740) area code.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ensee was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Ensee post office opened in 1890.

We also found Ensee in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
