Vinton County was founded March 23, 1850. Vinton was created by taking area from Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson and Ross Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Vinton had a population of 13,028 people. This is a decrease of 3.03% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,435 people in 2010).
