Pike County was founded February 1, 1815. Pike was created by taking area from Ross, Scioto and Adams Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Pike had a population of 27,772 people. This is a decrease of 2.94% since the last Census (which gave a population of 28,612 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Pike represented 0.25% of the total population of Ohio.
