Hocking County was founded March 1, 1818. Hocking was created by taking area from Athens, Ross and Fairfield Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Hocking had a population of 28,264 people. This is a decrease of 4.12% since the last Census (which gave a population of 29,478 people in 2010).
