Clark County was founded March 1, 1818. Clark was created by taking area from Champaign, Madison and Greene Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Clark had a population of 134,315 people. This is a decrease of 2.9% since the last Census (which gave a population of 138,333 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Clark represented 1.2% of the total population of Ohio.
