At the time of the 2010 Census, Congress had a population of 185 people. This makes Congress the county's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 185 people, the population of Congress decreased 3.65% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 192 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Congress was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Congress post office opened in 1832.
