Do you know of Basil ???This page is an orphan - a placeholder until we can discover more about Basil. Such is the case with Basil.<1> Our sources for Basil (see Mentions and References below) indicate that it was a community with a post office by the same name. Unfortunately our sources aren't clear about the location of Basil other than they indicate that Basil would be found somewhere in Fairfield County, Ohio. From the Blevins / Hellbock List: The post office opened in 1858 and closed in 1958. Communities Also Named Basil ...We found three communities that share the name Basil. Within Ohio, the name Basil is unique. Beyond Ohio, we know of another three communities that are located throughout in the United States.
