Welcome to Abashai ...

So far, we found very little information about Abashai. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Abashai to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Abashai - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Abashai, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Abashai , we believe that it would have been located within present day Scioto County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Abashai, you might consider that their post office opened in 1886.

Time Zone: The area where Abashai was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Abashai in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Abashai was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Abashai post office opened in 1886.

We also found Abashai in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
