Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Smyrna had an population of 216 people. This is an increase of 1.41% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 10.37% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Smyrna had a population of 213 people. This makes Smyrna the county's 29th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 213 people, the population of Smyrna decreased 11.62% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 241 people).

We originally found mention of Smyrna in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Smyrna was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Smyrna post office opened in 1809.

We also found Smyrna in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
