Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Panama had an population of 444 people. This is a decrease of 7.31% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 9.57% since the 2000 Census).

With a 2010 count of 479 people, the population of Panama decreased 2.44% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 491 people).

We originally found mention of Panama in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Panama was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Panama post office opened in 1826.

We also found Panama in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
