The community of Auburn is the Seat for Cayuga County.
Cayuga County was founded in 1799 and was created by taking area from Onondaga County.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cayuga had a population of 76,450 people. This is a decrease of 4.47% since the last Census (which gave a population of 80,026 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Cayuga represented 0.41% of the total population of New York.
