Bronx County was founded in 1914 and was created by taking area from  County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Bronx had a population of 1,418,187 people. This is an increase of 2.39% since the last Census (which gave a population of 1,385,108 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bronx represented 7.15% of the total population of New York.
