Welcome to Cannonsville ...

So far, we found very little information about Cannonsville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Cannonsville to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Cannonsville - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Cannonsville, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Cannonsville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Delaware County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Cannonsville, you might consider that their post office opened in 1824. The community was inundated by the Cannonsville Reservoir.

Time Zone: The area where Cannonsville was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Cannonsville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Cannonsville post office opened in 1824.

We also found Cannonsville in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
