At the time of the 2010 Census, Albion had a population of 6,056 people (which is 14.12% of the total population of Orleans County). This makes Albion the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Albion represents 0.03% of the population of New York (which has 19,378,102 people), making it the state's 405th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,056 people, the population of Albion decreased 18.58% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 7,438 people).

We originally found mention of Albion in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Albion was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Albion post office opened in 1826.

We also found Albion in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
