Welcome to Ward (aka 'Ward City') ...So far, we found very little information about Ward. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Ward to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Ward has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Ward, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877. While the community is gone, the present day location for Ward is 7,720 feet [2,353 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Ward is about 1½ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Ward was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Ward once stood is in the (775) area code. The community of Ward has also been called Ward City.
