So far, we found very little information about Amatol. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Amatol , we believe that it would have been located within present day Atlantic County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Amatol, you might consider that their post office opened in 1918.

Time Zone: The area where Amatol was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Amatol was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Amatol post office opened in 1918.

We also found Amatol mentioned on a train schedule titled Greyhound Bus Time Table (November 1931).
