Welcome to Woodburn ...

So far, we found very little information about Woodburn. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Woodburn to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Woodburn - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Woodburn, please Contact Us.


While we don't have the exact location of Woodburn , we believe that it would have been located within present day Platte County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Woodburn, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1878.

Time Zone: The area where Woodburn was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Woodburn once stood is in the (402) and (531)<3> area codes.

Communities Also Named Woodburn ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 20 communities that are also named Woodburn - they are located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan (2), Mississippi, North Carolina (2), Nova Scotia, Ohio, Ontario (2), Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Adding Woodburn to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Woodburn was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Woodburn post office opened in 1878.

We also found Woodburn on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
