While our initial information about Shippee came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Shippee in various books and other sources.

Shippee is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>
From that list:
The Shippee post office opened in 1913 and had closed by 1933.
