Welcome to Myrtle ...So far, we found very little information about Myrtle. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Myrtle to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Myrtle, please Contact Us. Myrtle would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>. The location of Myrtle has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Myrtle, you might consider that their post office opened in 1886. While the community is gone, the present day location for Myrtle is 3,020 feet [920 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Myrtle is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Myrtle was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Myrtle, you will leave Central Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT). Myrtle would have been located in the (308) area code.
