Welcome to Garman ...

So far, we found very little information about Garman. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Garman to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Garman - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Garman, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Garman , we believe that it would have been located within present day Cheyenne County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Garman, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887.

Time Zone: The area where Garman was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Garman would have been located in the (308) area code.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Garman was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Garman post office opened in 1887.

We also found Garman on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
