Welcome to Gannett ...

So far, we found very little information about Gannett. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Gannett to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Gannett - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Gannett, please Contact Us.


While we don't have the exact location of Gannett , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Gannett, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

Time Zone: The area where Gannett was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Gannett would have been located in the (308) area code.

We originally found mention of Gannett in the FIPS-55 file. For more information, see the Referenced FIPS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gannett was on a map titled Map of Nebraska (from Rand McNally, 1895).

We also found Gannett mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
