So far, we found very little information about Gannett. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>
We've added Gannett to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Gannett , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Gannett, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.
Time Zone: The area where Gannett was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time
Gannett would have been located in the (308) area code.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gannett was on a map titled Map of Nebraska (from Rand McNally, 1895).
We also found Gannett mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
