Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Emmet had an population of 46 people. This is a decrease of 4.17% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 40.26% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Emmet had a population of 48 people. This makes Emmet the county's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 48 people, the population of Emmet decreased 37.66% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 77 people).

We originally found mention of Emmet in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Emmet was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Emmet post office opened in 1880.

We also found Emmet on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
