While we don't have a date for the founding of Edison, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Edison: Named for Edison Rohr; the son of R.H. Rohr; one of the owners of the first store.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Edison has a population of 125 people<2> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Edison had an population of 125 people. This is a decrease of 6.02% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.83% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Edison had a population of 133 people. This makes Edison the county's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 133 people, the population of Edison decreased 13.64% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 154 people).
