So far, we found very little information about Dexter. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>
We've added Dexter to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Dexter - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Dexter, please Contact Us.
While we don't have the exact location of Dexter , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Dexter, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.
Time Zone: The area where Dexter was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time
If Dexter still existed, it would have been in the (308) area code.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Dexter was on a map titled Map of Nebraska (from Rand McNally, 1895).
We also found Dexter mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
