At the time of the 2010 Census, Cook had a population of 321 people (or 6.15% of the total population of Johnson County). This makes Cook the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Cook represents 0.02% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 263rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 321 people, the population of Cook has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 322 people).

We originally found mention of Cook in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cook was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Cook post office opened in 1888.

We also found Cook in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
