So far, we found very little information about Chelsea. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Chelsea , we believe that it would have been located within present day Holt County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Chelsea, you might consider that their post office opened in 1878.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Chelsea was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>
From that list, the Chelsea post office opened in 1878.
We also found Chelsea on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
