The location of Caldwell has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Caldwell, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890. While the community is gone, the present day location for Caldwell is 4,090 feet [1,247 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Caldwell is about ¾ mile [or 1¼ km] above sea level.
