So far, we found very little information about Caldwell. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Caldwell would have been located within present day Scotts Bluff County<2>.


The location of Caldwell has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Caldwell, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1890.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Caldwell is 4,090 feet [1,247 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Caldwell is about ¾ mile [or 1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Caldwell was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Caldwell in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Caldwell was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Caldwell post office opened in 1890.

We also found Caldwell on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
