Welcome to Bega ...

So far, we found very little information about Bega. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Bega to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Bega - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Bega, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Bega , we believe that it would have been located within present day Stanton County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bega, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879.

Time Zone: The area where Bega was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Bega still existed, it would have been in the (402) & (531)<3> area codes.

Adding Bega to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Bega was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Bega post office opened in 1879.

We also found Bega on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
