So far, we have found very little information about Austin. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We believe that Austin was located in Sherman County, we don't know its actual location within the county.

We've added Austin to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Austin, we believe that it would have been located within present day Sherman County.

When the people of Austin referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Austinite<2>
