At the time of the 2010 Census, Ashland had a population of 2,453 people (or 11.75% of the total population of Saunders County). This makes Ashland the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Ashland represents 0.13% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 50th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,453 people, the population of Ashland increased 8.44% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,262 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ashland was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Ashland post office opened in 1866.

We also found Ashland in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
