Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Wallace had an population of 3,868 people. This is a decrease of 0.31% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 15.67% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Wallace had a population of 3,880 people (which is 6.61% of the total population of Duplin County). This makes Wallace the county's most populous community.

The population of Wallace represents 0.04% of the total population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 162nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,880 people, the population of Wallace increased 16.03% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 3,344 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Wallace was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

X2X - From that list, the Wallace post office opened in 1866.

We also found Wallace in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
