While we don't have a date for the founding of Lookout, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879.
While the community is gone, the present day location for Lookout is 520 feet [158 m] above sea level.<4>.
Time Zone: The area where Lookout was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time
If Lookout still existed, it would have been in the (704) & (980)<5> area codes.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lookout was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>
From that list, the Lookout post office opened in 1879.
