While our initial information about Gardnerville came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Gardnerville in various books and other sources.

Gardnerville is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Gardnerville post office opened in 1894 and had closed by 1901.
