While we don't have a date for the founding of Yakt, you might consider that their post office opened in 1920. While the community is gone, the present day location for Yakt is 3,370 feet [1,027 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Yakt is about ¾ mile [or ~1 km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Yakt was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Yakt (for example, toward Clark Fork (ID)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT).
