Welcome to Alma ...

So far, we found very little information about Alma. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Alma would have been located within present day Liberty County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Alma, you might consider that their post office opened in 1902.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Alma is 3,300 feet [1,006 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Alma is about ¾ mile [or 1 km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Alma was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Alma in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Alma was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Alma post office opened in 1902. The Alma post office closed in 1935.
