Neshoba County was founded in 1833. Neshoba was created by taking area from Jones, Madison, Rankin and Wayne Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Neshoba had a population of 29,118 people. This is a decrease of 1.94% since the last Census (which gave a population of 29,695 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Neshoba represented 1% of the total population of Mississippi.
