Christian County was founded in 1859. Christian was created by taking area from Greene, Taney and Webster Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Christian had a population of 88,913 people. This is an increase of 14.84% since the last Census (which gave a population of 77,422 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Christian represented 1.29% of the total population of Missouri.
