Camden County was founded in 1841. Camden was created by taking area from Benton, Morgan and Pulaski Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Camden had a population of 46,211 people. This is an increase of 5.02% since the last Census (which gave a population of 44,002 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Camden represented 0.73% of the total population of Missouri.
