Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Myrtle had an population of 46 people. This is a decrease of 4.17% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 26.98% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Myrtle had a population of 48 people. This makes Myrtle the county's 14th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 48 people, the population of Myrtle decreased 23.81% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 63 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Myrtle was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Myrtle post office opened in 1887.

We also found Myrtle in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
