While we don't have the exact location of Madison , we believe that it would have been located within present day Mower County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Madison, you might consider that their post office opened in 1857. When the people of Madison referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Madisonian<3> Time Zone: The area where Madison was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Madison still existed, it would have been in the (507) area code.
