At the time of the 2010 Census, Elba had a population of 152 people. This makes Elba the county's 11th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 152 people, the population of Elba decreased 28.97% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 214 people).

We originally found mention of Elba in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Elba was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Elba post office opened in 1858. The Elba post office closed in 1960.
