Nobles County was founded in 1857 and was created by taking area from Brown County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Nobles had a population of 21,629 people. This is an increase of 0.95% since the last Census (which gave a population of 21,425 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Nobles represented 0.4% of the total population of Minnesota.
